Anki Card Generator

Once you start making tools that help your workflows, it seems it’s difficult to stop! 🙂

This time, it isn’t a chat tool but rather a processing tool. This little web app takes arbitrary text and processes it into CSV files that can be imported into Anki to create Anki cards.

When I’m having general “free chat” lessons with my Japanese tutor, he types up a lot of the key parts of the conversation. If I take what he types and run it through this tool, it will pull all the useful phrases and words out of the text and format them appropriately, including the creation of the English translations for the backside of the Anki cards

The above screen shows shows already quite well-structured input text (it’s already in separate lines and includes hiragana for some kanji for example), but there’s nothing stopping you putting larger and somewhat arbitrary passages of text in there for it to process into useful Anki cards.
